Exciting news for Wilmington families! The Wilmington Cares Program is pleased to announce that registration for the 2024-2025 Fall semester is officially open as of May 21, 2024. If you’re seeking a reliable and engaging before and after school program for your child, the Wilmington CARES program offers a fantastic solution for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Don’t delay, as the deadline for fall enrollment is June 16, 2024. Enrollments received after this date will be placed on a waitlist, so early registration is highly encouraged to secure your spot in the Wilmington CARES program.
Secure Your Child’s Spot in the Wilmington CARES Program: Registration Details
Registration for the Wilmington CARES program is conveniently conducted online through CommunityPass. This streamlined process allows parents to easily enroll their children from the comfort of their homes. It’s important to note that registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and availability is limited. To complete your registration, you will need to pay the registration fee along with the first month’s tuition. All tuition payments must be processed through Community Pass using either a credit card or e-check for secure and efficient transactions.
Please be aware that the registration fee and all monthly tuition payments for the Wilmington CARES program are NON-REFUNDABLE. Similarly, NO CREDITS WILL BE APPLIED FOR CANCELLATIONS. We encourage families to carefully consider their schedules before enrolling to avoid any inconvenience.
Program Locations and Important Information for Wildwood Elementary Students
The Wilmington CARES program will operate directly at each elementary school site within Wilmington, ensuring convenient access for students. The exception to this is for students attending Wildwood Elementary School. To ensure all Wilmington students can benefit from the CARES program, Wildwood students will be transported by bus to North Intermediate School at dismissal to participate in the after-school program. This ensures that Wildwood students have the same opportunity to engage in the enriching activities offered by the Wilmington CARES program.
Schedule Change Policy: Plan Ahead for the 2024-2025 School Year
To maintain program stability and staffing, please note that NO SCHEDULE CHANGES will be permitted between August 12, 2024, and October 31, 2024. We understand that families’ needs may evolve, so we have a clear policy for schedule adjustments throughout the school year.
Tuition cycles for the Wilmington CARES program operate one month in advance. If you anticipate needing to change your child’s schedule, including withdrawals, you must submit a request at least two weeks prior to tuition being posted on the first of the month preceding the desired schedule change for the following month. No credits or reimbursements will be issued for schedule changes or withdrawals made after tuition has been posted and after the first of the month.
For example, if you wish to make a schedule change effective from November 1st, please notify the CARES office two weeks before October 1, 2024. This advance notice policy applies to all schedule modifications throughout the entire school year, ensuring smooth administration and fair policies for all participants in the Wilmington CARES program.
Early Release Days: Additional Care Options
For the 2024-2025 school year, there are seven early release days scheduled. The Wilmington CARES program offers a separate enrollment option for these days at an additional cost of $15.00 per day. You can register for early release day care during the regular fall enrollment process. Five of these early release days fall on Wednesdays, and two are on Thursdays.
Eligibility for early release day care is limited to children who are already enrolled in the regular afternoon Wilmington CARES program on the scheduled early release day. If you choose to drop a regularly scheduled afternoon that coincides with an early release day, your child will no longer be eligible for early release day care, and no refunds or credits will be provided. Space for early release day care is limited due to staffing considerations, so prompt registration is recommended if you require care on these days.
Please note that early release day care will not be offered after the initial registration deadline of June 16, 2024.
The Early Release Days for the 2024-2025 school year are: 9/25/24, 10/30/24, 12/5/24, 1/29/25, 3/12/25, 3/20/25, and 5/7/25.
