Chad McCumbee, balancing a demanding schedule between Sports Car and Late Model Stock racing, is committed to securing a Late Model Stock victory in the 2025 season. McCumbee Elliott Racing has maintained a consistent presence in the CARS Late Model Stock Tour since 2020, highlighted by a win at Hickory in 2022. Despite frequent top-five performances, a full season of success has been elusive due to occasional setbacks.
“We’re juggling a lot right now,” McCumbee shared with Short Track Scene before practice at New River All American Speedway. “My priority is returning to full-time CARS Tour competition and focusing on our short track program.”
While acknowledging his IMSA commitments, McCumbee emphasized his passion for the CARS Tour. “The series continues to grow and the competition is intensifying, but we’re determined to make a strong run this year.” Beyond McCumbee Elliott Racing, the McCumbee family is also involved with McCumbee McAleer Racing, competing in IMSA Pilot Challenge, Mazda MX-5 Cup, and Ford Mustang Challenge.
With three ARCA Racing Series wins under his belt, McCumbee is set to make his 61st CARS Tour start. His best championship result, a fifth-place finish, came in 2022 after winning at Hickory. This season, McCumbee aims to capitalize on his experience and dedication to achieve his ultimate goal: a CARS Tour championship. The combination of his talent, the team’s commitment, and the competitive spirit of the series promises an exciting season for McCumbee and the CARS Tour.
