The Orange Unified School District (OUSD) CARES program offers a nurturing and stimulating environment for students, extending their learning beyond the regular school day. This program is designed to complement classroom education, foster social-emotional growth, and broaden children’s understanding of the world around them through engaging activities and experiences.

Spring Camp Details

Looking for a fun and enriching program during Spring Break? The OUSD CARES Spring Camp provides a safe and structured setting for your child to learn and play.

  • Dates: March 31st – April 4th
  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Registration Opens: February 10th, 2025 @ 9:00 AM

Summer Camp Information

Keep your child engaged and active throughout the summer with the OUSD CARES Summer Camp program! Offering a full summer of fun and learning, the Summer Camp provides a consistent and reliable childcare solution.

  • Dates: June 16th – August 15th
  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Registration Opens: April 14th, 2025 @ 9:00 AM

OUSD CARES Program Fee Schedule

Understanding the costs associated with the Ousd Cares Program is important for planning. Here’s a breakdown of the fee schedule:

Registration Fee $10 Per student
$20 Max Maximum per family for new students not currently enrolled in CARES
Spring Camp Fee $220 For the entire week of Spring Camp (March 31st – April 4th)
Camp Shirt $12 Required for all field trips and charged upon contract approval

Important Fee Information:

  • Deposit: A deposit of 50% of the weekly fee is required upon contract approval (excluding CHS & OCDE participants). This deposit will be credited towards your first invoice.
  • Sibling Discount: A 10% discount is applied to fees for older siblings enrolled in the program.

Essential Information about the OUSD CARES Program

To ensure you have all the necessary details about the OUSD CARES program, please review the following key points:

  • Operating Hours: The program runs from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Field Trips Included: The weekly program fee includes the cost of field trips, providing enriching experiences for the children.
  • Absences Covered: The weekly fee remains the same even if your child is absent for any days during the registered week.
  • Holidays Excluded: The program does not operate on holidays, and these days are not included in the weekly fee.
  • No Refunds for Non-Attendance: Please note that refunds are not provided for registered weeks that your child does not attend.
  • Schedule Change Policy: In the event of unforeseen schedule changes, a cancellation fee equal to one half of the weekly fee will be applied.
  • Snacks Provided: A morning and afternoon snack will be provided to all children.
  • Lunch and Water Bottle: Parents are responsible for providing lunch and a water bottle for their child each day.

Field Trip Participation and Waivers

Participation in field trips is an exciting part of the OUSD CARES program. For certain field trip locations, waivers may be required.

Contract Enrollment Process

Enrolling your child in the OUSD CARES program involves a simple contract submission process.

  • Contract Submission Confirmation: Once you submit your contract, you will receive an email confirming that your request is pending.
  • Contract Approval Confirmation: A final confirmation email will be sent to you once your contract has been officially approved.
  • Separate Enrollment per Child: Please remember that each child must be enrolled separately for the OUSD CARES program.
