“Mary Kay is proud to operate one of the world’s largest and most successful car incentive programs, and our annual U.S. Seminar provides the ideal stage to commemorate the 50th anniversary of this remarkable program with the introduction of the brand-new Mary Kay® pink Cadillac XT6,” stated Laura Beitler, Vice President of Sales for Mary Kay Inc. “With production of the Cadillac XT6 commencing just in May 2019, we are thrilled to offer our independent sales force the exclusive opportunity to earn this cutting-edge Cadillac model as we celebrate a significant milestone for the iconic Mary Kay® pink Cadillac.”
The story of the pink Cadillac began in 1967 when Mary Kay Ash herself commissioned her first pink Cadillac from a Dallas dealership. She requested the car be painted to match the delicate pink shade of her signature Mary Kay® lip and eye palette. This distinctive pink vehicle immediately became a sensation, embodying the spirit of the Mary Kay brand. Building on this success, in 1969, Mary Kay Ash formalized the recognition by rewarding her top five independent sales force members with the use of their very own pink 1970 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. This pivotal moment marked the official launch of the Mary Kay Career Car Program, solidifying the pink Cadillac as a symbol of achievement and a cornerstone of the company’s incentive strategy.
Since its inception in the United States, the Mary Kay Career Car Program has recognized and rewarded over 165,000 high-achieving independent sales force members who have qualified or re-qualified for the use of a Mary Kay career car. Remarkably, nearly 24,000 of these individuals have earned the prestigious Mary Kay® pink Cadillac, a testament to the program’s enduring allure and the hard work of Mary Kay entrepreneurs. Today, over 4,000 Mary Kay career cars are on roads across the nation, serving as mobile billboards of success and inspiring countless others.
“The Mary Kay Career Car Program is deeply ingrained in our company’s history and serves as a powerful way to recognize the dedication and accomplishments of our independent sales force members,” commented Nathan Moore, President of Mary Kay Inc.’s North America Region. “As we welcome thousands of Mary Kay independent sales force members from across the country to North Texas for our annual U.S. Seminar, we are excited to celebrate the success of all Mary Kay entrepreneurs through recognition, education, and motivation. This event stands as the longest-running event at the Dallas convention center, highlighting its continued significance.”
The newly unveiled Mary Kay® pink Cadillac XT6 was prominently displayed throughout the company’s Seminar, held from July 18 to August 2 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas. The Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau estimated that Seminar 2019 generated a substantial $37 million economic boost to the North Texas region and supported 3,464 jobs during the two-week event. Comprising four consecutive conferences, this annual gathering is recognized as one of the top five largest events in Dallas based on attendance, economic impact, and hotel room nights. During the 2019 Seminar, Mary Kay awarded approximately $8 million in recognition prizes, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to celebrating and rewarding its independent sales force.
