Diverse Clinical Rotations

The clinical curriculum within the Inspira Health Vineland Critical Care Program is designed to provide a wide range of experiences. Core rotations include the Medical Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit, and Trauma Intensive Care Unit. Fellows also gain valuable experience in Anesthesia, Echocardiography, and Nephrology, providing a holistic view of critical care.

Furthermore, the program offers elective rotations in specialized areas such as Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Mechanical Circulatory Support / Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Advanced Heart Failure, Echocardiography, Pulmonology, Interventional Pulmonology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, Radiology, Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS), and Quality Improvement and Research. This flexibility allows fellows to tailor their training to their specific interests and career goals within critical care.

Longitudinal Educational Experiences

Beyond the structured conference schedule, the Inspira Health Vineland Critical Care Program emphasizes continuous growth through longitudinal educational series. These build upon foundational knowledge, preparing fellows for independent practice. Key longitudinal experiences include focused training in POCUS, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), mechanical ventilation mastery, research methodologies, advanced simulation training, morbidity and mortality analysis, journal club participation, shock rounds, and management rounds.

Leadership and Committee Involvement

The Inspira Health Vineland Critical Care Program actively encourages the development of leadership skills. Fellows are offered unique opportunities to participate in and contribute to various Inspira committees and initiatives. These include the Critical Care Committee, Code Blue Committee, Sepsis Committee, Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUDI) Committee, Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections (CLABSI) Committee, Graduate Medical Education Committee, Wellness Committee, Antibiotic Stewardship Committee, Infection Control / Hand Hygiene Committee, and Restraint Committee. This involvement not only enhances leadership abilities but also provides valuable experience in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within a hospital system.
