Program Requirements for Enrollment
To be eligible for the Highway Construction Career Training Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a Valid Illinois driver’s license
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Successfully pass a Drug Screening
- Hold a High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrate a genuine Interest in working in the construction trades
The Highway Construction Program offers two 12-week class sessions annually, running Monday through Friday, in the fall and spring. Each session accommodates 12-15 participants, ensuring personalized attention. Classes are conveniently held at the ICC Peoria Campus, Hickory Hall.
*This program is proudly funded by the IL Dept. of Transportation and administered by the IL Community College Board. It is important to note that while the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Community College Board, and participating community colleges provide comprehensive training and support, they cannot guarantee employment upon graduation from the Highway Construction Careers Training Program.
