Elevate Your Healthcare Career with a Premier Leadership Program

Are you a healthcare professional eager to advance your career and make a greater impact in the evolving healthcare landscape? The CHCF Health Care Leadership Program is a transformative fellowship designed to cultivate today’s clinicians into tomorrow’s influential leaders. This prestigious two-year, part-time program is meticulously crafted for physicians, behavioral health providers, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and various other healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their leadership capabilities.

Each year, up to 32 fellows are selected to participate in this enriching journey while continuing their valuable work at their respective organizations. The program’s structure includes six intensive seminars strategically spaced throughout the fellowship period. To foster continuous growth and collaboration, fellows engage in regional groups, guided by experienced leaders, between these seminars. A cornerstone of the program is the California Health Care Improvement Project, where each fellow undertakes a self-directed project aligned with fellowship guidelines, contributing directly to healthcare advancement.

The curriculum of this distinguished health care leadership program is expertly delivered by national leaders in healthcare and leadership development from the renowned Healthforce Center at UCSF. The program uniquely addresses critical healthcare issues through the lenses of both business management and public policy, providing a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s complexities.

Fellows who participate in the health care leadership program will significantly broaden their management expertise and sharpen their leadership acumen. They will gain invaluable insights into the prevailing trends and pressing challenges confronting California’s healthcare sector. Upon completion, alumni become part of an extensive network of over 600 leaders, fostering ongoing collaboration and continuous professional development.

Applications for the health care leadership program are accepted annually from April through June. For detailed information about the program and the application process, please visit Healthforce Center at UCSF.

Alumni of the program are encouraged to join the CHCF Alumni Network page to stay connected, participate in alumni events, explore interest groups, and network with fellow graduates.

It is important to note that this health care leadership program is distinct from the CHCF Health Equity Fellows, which is a separate two-year fellowship focused on cultivating emerging BIPOC leaders through leadership development, training, and practical experience in grantmaking for health equity initiatives. The Health Equity Fellows program is a full-time, fully benefited employment opportunity with CHCF.
