Unleash the Power of FPGA with the Genisys 2.0 Development Board

The Genisys 2.0 is a high-performance FPGA development board built around the Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA. This powerful board is ideal for demanding applications like data and video processing, but its versatile peripherals make it suitable for a wide range of projects. Whether you’re a seasoned engineer or just starting out with FPGAs, the Genisys 2.0 offers a comprehensive platform for innovation.

Genisys 2.0: A Feature-Rich FPGA Development Platform

The Genisys 2.0 comes equipped with everything necessary for robust multimedia applications. Onboard DisplayPort connectors, HDMI input and output, 16-bit VGA output, a 128×32 pixel OLED display, and a four-jack audio codec enable immediate development of audio/video, image processing, and other multimedia projects without needing extra hardware.

Beyond multimedia, the Genisys 2.0 offers extensive customization options. Five Pmod ports and a fully populated FMC HPC connector provide limitless expansion possibilities. Standard connectivity features like 10/100/1000 Ethernet, USB 2.0, and a USB HID host for mice and keyboards ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

Harness the Power of the Kintex-7 FPGA

At the heart of the Genisys 2.0 lies the powerful Kintex-7 XC7K325T-2FFG900C FPGA. This chip provides ample resources for complex designs created using Vivado Design Suite or ISE. While the free WebPACK version of Vivado Design Suite doesn’t support the Kintex-7 325T, a voucher for Vivado HL Design Edition is included with the Genisys 2.0 at no additional cost.

Comprehensive Connectivity and Powerful Performance

The Genisys 2.0 boasts an impressive array of ports and peripherals:

  • Expansion: Fully populated 400-pin FMC HPC connector with ten GTX lanes and five Pmod ports.
  • Multimedia: Two four-lane DisplayPort connectors, HDMI input and output, 16-bit VGA output, 128×32 pixel OLED display, and an audio codec with four 3.5mm jacks.
  • Connectivity: 10/100/1000 Ethernet PHY, USB 2.0 Host/Device/OTG PHY, dedicated USB port for JTAG programming and data transfers, USB HID Host for mice and keyboards, USB MSD Host for storage, and a USB-UART bridge.
  • Memory and Storage: 1 GB 1800 MT/s on-board DDR3, Micro SD card connector, and Serial Flash.
  • On-board FPGA: Xilinx Kintex-7™ FPGA (XC7K325T-2FFG900C) with 50,950 logic slices, 16 Mbits of block RAM, ten clock management tiles, 840 DSP slices, internal clock speeds exceeding 450MHz, on-chip XADC, and up to 10.3125Gbps gigabit transceivers.
