EDS remains fully committed to supporting and enhancing Dealerpath, a crucial service for automotive dealerships. Following IBM’s decision to discontinue the InterJet (Web Connections) device, EDS proactively transitioned to a new web ramp solution, ensuring uninterrupted service for our clients. This transition involved replacing the IBM hardware with a newer model, the same one independently chosen by IBM for their own replacement, at no cost to our existing DealerPath customers.
DealerPath is structured as a service, not a product. This distinction is key: dealerships utilizing DealerPath do not own the underlying hardware. EDS retains ownership and responsibility for maintaining the service and ensuring its consistent delivery according to agreed-upon service level agreements. Therefore, the specific hardware used should not impact the functionality or reliability of DealerPath for our clients. Our commitment remains unwavering – providing a seamless and dependable service.
For dealerships who initially purchased the solution directly from IBM, like Jason, we are exploring options. EDS is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and will connect you with Lori Miller, our DealerPath Portfolio Manager, to discuss your specific contract and potential transfer options to EDS for continued maintenance and support.
