The Rizzo Career Center Career Sponsorship Program pairs sophomore, junior, and senior Loyola students with experienced alumni mentors dedicated to their post-graduate success. This program provides tailored career guidance, professional development opportunities, and networking support to help students launch their careers.
This nine-week Spring semester program, offered in collaboration with the Thrive Center for Student Success and Alumni Engagement, focuses on three key career phases: Exploration (weeks 1-3), Preparation (weeks 4-6), and Active Pursuit (weeks 7-9). Participants meet with their sponsors at least twice per phase and attend three mandatory group sessions at the Career Center in February, March, and April.
A detailed syllabus guides sponsors and students through the program, outlining tasks and timelines to ensure successful completion. This structured approach helps students gain valuable insights and build essential skills for their chosen career paths. The program emphasizes individualized support, allowing sponsors and students to tailor their interactions to specific goals and needs.
The program fosters meaningful connections between students and alumni, creating a supportive network that extends beyond graduation. To participate in the Career Sponsorship Program, students must attend an information session in the Fall semester. Following the session, applicants will receive an application link via email and complete it through Handshake. The matching process takes a few weeks, and students are notified of their acceptance status at the beginning of the Spring semester. Selected participants will receive further instructions to confirm their participation.
