While a merchant might sell items that fall into bonus categories, they must be classified under an eligible MCC to qualify for the accelerated earn rate. Similarly, purchases made within a merchant that is classified as eligible, but from a separate, non-eligible merchant located on the premises, will not qualify for bonus points. RBC cannot guarantee merchant classification and is not liable for claims arising from purchases at merchants not classified as eligible MCCs.
