A series of armed robberies targeting AutoZone stores across Riverside and San Bernardino counties culminated in the arrest of four individuals, thanks to a diligent stakeout by Fontana Police. Among the locations impacted was the AutoZone on Baseline in San Bernardino, highlighting the widespread nature of this crime spree.
The first incident was reported on March 21st at the AutoZone in San Jacinto. From there, the robberies escalated, hitting multiple AutoZone locations in cities including Riverside, Grand Terrace, Menifee, San Bernardino, Jurupa Valley, Perris, Hemet, and Redlands. Riverside alone was targeted eight times, demonstrating the brazenness of the perpetrators.
Law enforcement agencies from Riverside, San Bernardino, Redlands, Hemet, and Fontana, alongside the sheriff’s departments of both counties, joined forces to investigate this alarming pattern. Their collaboration proved crucial in bringing the culprits to justice.
On Wednesday, Fontana police were strategically positioned near AutoZone stores within their jurisdiction. Their vigilance paid off when they successfully intervened in a robbery unfolding at the AutoZone located in the 14000 block of Baseline Avenue. The suspects attempted to flee, leading officers on a vehicle pursuit that extended into Rancho Cucamonga. The chase concluded with the initial arrest of one suspect. Adding to the severity of the crimes, a loaded AR-15 assault rifle was discarded from the fleeing vehicle during the pursuit but was subsequently recovered by officers.
Further investigation led to the apprehension of three additional suspects two days later. Search warrants executed at various locations yielded crucial evidence linking these individuals to the extensive series of robberies.
The arrested individuals are Daeon Raishawn Cox, 19, of Moreno Valley; Dashon Raymond White, 24, of Moreno Valley; Jada Shardae Allen, 18, of Perris; and a juvenile. They face serious charges including conspiracy, robbery, and kidnapping during the commission of a robbery. If convicted, they could potentially face life imprisonment without parole.
Authorities believe this group may be connected to even more robberies and are urging anyone with information to contact their local police department. The successful resolution of this case underscores the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation in tackling organized crime and ensuring the safety of businesses and communities in areas like San Bernardino and beyond. The focus on the Autozone San Bernardino Baseline location in this operation highlights the commitment to protecting local businesses from such criminal activities.
