First Time Guest FAQs

We want your first visit to be smooth and enjoyable. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:

Parking

The Tipp City Campus has three driveway entrances from Shoop Road, Evanston Road, and 25A. As you arrive, you’ll notice two buildings: “The Avenue,” our student building, and the “main” building. Worship services, kids’ ministry, and staff offices are located in the main building. New guest parking is conveniently located on the southeast side of the main building, while senior and handicap parking is on the west side.

Entering the Building

For students in grades 6-12, “The Avenue” building has a dedicated entrance marked with an orange “students” sign. The main building offers side entrances on the east (kids’ wing) and west (senior/handicap parking) sides. The main lobby entrance faces the open field to the south of the main building.

Upon entering the lobby, you’ll find a red-walled area with friendly volunteers in red shirts. Feel free to stop by if you have any questions or need assistance. If you’re a first-time guest, let them know – we have a special welcome gift for you!

Where Do My Kids Go?

During each worship service, children experience a safe and engaging environment designed for their age group. They’ll enjoy community with peers, learn about God’s plan, hear Bible stories, and participate in age-appropriate worship. Our dedicated small group leaders and volunteers help children build lasting memories and relationships.

Students in grades 6 and above have programs in “The Avenue” on Sundays at 10:30 AM. Simply direct them to “The Avenue” (across the parking lot), where a student ministry volunteer will be waiting in the lobby. Children in grade 5 and below have programs in the kids’ wing of the main building. Infants and toddlers are located downstairs, and elementary-aged kids are upstairs. Registration is in the kids’ lobby downstairs and the kids’ hallway upstairs. Look for friendly kids’ ministry volunteers in orange shirts for assistance. On your first visit, they will collect basic information (child’s name, age/grade, and your phone number) and guide you to the appropriate area. To expedite check-in, you can pre-register your children online:

Why Do I Have to Register My Kids?

Child safety and security are paramount to us. All ministry volunteers undergo thorough screening and background checks. Our check-in/check-out system ensures a secure and worry-free Sunday morning for parents.

Each child receives a name tag to wear during worship, and parents receive a matching security tag for check-out. These tags have matching identification numbers unique to your family and visit. Please retain your security tag for safe and secure child pick-up.

Can I Take My Kids Into Worship With Me?

Absolutely! We believe families should worship in the way that best suits them. However, if your child needs space to move and engage, our kids’ ministry offers more than just childcare. We intentionally design our programs to help children learn about God, understand the Bible, and connect it to Jesus in an age-appropriate and fun way. Our dedicated volunteers and staff are passionate about serving Jesus by serving you and your children. We’re confident your kids will enjoy and learn a lot! We understand that transitioning to kids’ church can take time, so feel free to keep your children with you until they are comfortable. For nursing mothers, we offer a nursing mother’s room off the main lobby where you can participate in worship via one-way glass. You can also inquire about one-on-one care options from a kids’ ministry volunteer.

What’s Worship Like?

Our in-person worship celebrations typically last approximately 60 minutes.

  • Each service begins with a slide rotation promoting upcoming events, followed by a three-minute countdown to help you settle in. Then, you’ll be welcomed into a time of music led by a live band. Song lyrics are displayed on large LED screens, and you are welcome to sing along as you feel comfortable. We use music to express our love for God and gratitude for His blessings.
  • During worship, leaders may lead in prayer, and you may be invited to sit or stand. We will always provide clear instructions and ensure you feel comfortable participating.
  • A live or video host will share announcements about upcoming events or inspiring stories. There will also be an opportunity to support the church’s ministry and mission. This includes support for community programs like the Ginghamsburg Church car program, which relies on donations to help those in need of transportation.
  • One of our pastors will deliver a Bible-based message focused on practical application to daily life. Our goal is to make the Bible accessible and inspiring, encouraging your personal spiritual journey.
  • Occasionally, we celebrate baptisms, communion, or welcome new members. A host will always explain any special elements of the service to ensure clarity and understanding.
  • We also celebrate holidays with special services for occasions like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, back-to-school, Christmas, and Easter. Expect something a bit different and special on these Sundays.

What Should I Wear?

Our attendees wear everything from shorts and flip-flops to dresses and slacks. Come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing! We are simply happy to have you join us, and you’ll fit right in regardless of your attire.

Will I Have to Identify Myself or Be Called Out?

You will never be asked to stand up, identify yourself publicly, or do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. However, we encourage you not to remain anonymous for too long. We are here to help you take your next step in faith and connect with our community.

Am I Expected to Give Money?

As our guest, we do not expect you to contribute financially. An offering will be taken during worship, but please feel free to let it pass you by. The offering is an opportunity for the Ginghamsburg Church family to support the church’s mission and ministries, including community outreach efforts such as the Ginghamsburg Church car program. If you are new, please consider our worship service a gift to you.

We believe that financial resources should follow mission and ministry. Therefore, we are committed to using donations to help people, whether through our counseling center, food pantry, global missions, or local initiatives like the Ginghamsburg Church car program, which provides reliable vehicles to those facing transportation challenges. We believe you can’t out-give God.

If you decide to make Ginghamsburg your church home, we appreciate your prayerful consideration of regular contributions. You can give by check or cash during weekend worship or set up online giving on our Give page. Offering boxes are located near the Worship Center doors and throughout the campus for your convenience.

About Our Music

Music at the Tipp City Campus is similar to what you might hear on contemporary Christian radio, featuring a band with guitars, drums, keyboards, and vocalists. Our musicians are talented, but our focus is on worship, not performance. Our musical style is familiar, well-rehearsed, and easy to follow. We enjoy energetic music but monitor decibel levels to ensure a comfortable environment for everyone. Disposable earplugs are available from our hospitality team if needed.
